Frequently Asked Questions about Ski- and Sledgeresort Salzstiegl

Skiing near Graz: daily monday to Friday 9 am to 4 pm; on weekends from 8 am to 6 pm.

Sledging near Graz: daily monday to Friday 10 am to 6 pm; on weekends from 8 am to 6 pm.

Ski rental: daily monday to friday from 9 am to 4 pam; on weekends from 8 am to 4 pm. please wear a FFP2 facemask, as soon as you enter the ski rental area. No reservation needed. All size between 24 and 48 available.

Is sledging safe?I The 2 km long sledge run is secured. At night lamps illumine the sledge run.

Do I need to reserve my tickets beforehand? No you get all the tickets athe cashpoint "Kassa" and in the Rodelhütte next to it.

We come in a group, is there a need to tell beforehand? Theres is no need to make reservations.

Is there a sledge shuttle and sledge rental? Yes the sledge shuttel is per ride and you need to buy a ticket at the Rodelhütte or at the Moasterhaus. A ticket per adult is € 6 and per child € 5 (6 to 14,99 years). There are also sledges available for renting. € 6 one-time.

May I bring my own slege for sledging? Yes but you have to use one of our sledge shuttles. The sledge run is private, that's why you are only allowed to use it when you take our shutlebusses.

Due to Corona, I don't want to use the shuttle bus. What to do? All guests are required to use FFP2 face masks. Only two people are allowed in one row, except it is a family.

Do I have to pay a fee for Alpine Touring? Yes, that is € 10 per person, a voucher of € 2 is included.

What is the fee for Alpine Touring used for? The fee is used for clearing the parking area, waste management and toilets. Most of our slopes are rented, so we use the fee for that as well. The Snow is made
 by snowguns.

Is there a take away bar? Yes, we offer hot soups and all kind of things, which are easy to pack and good for eating outside or in the car.

How to get to the Moasterhaus

The family hotel Moasterhaus, in the nice region of west-styria is by car about one hour away from Graz and Klagenfurt and about two hours from Vienna.

From Graz - ca. 59 km - 1 hour
take the south highway A2 to Klagenfurt till the exit Modriach. Just follow the sign Hirschegg/Salzstiegl for 22 km. When in Hirschegg take a right turn, following the signs, to Salzstiegl (9 km). 

From north Styria - ca. 30 km – 30 min
from Zeltweg west (follow the sign "Gaberl" ) til Weißkirchen. After that to Gaberl/Köflach til Großfeistritz. In Großfeistritz you need to make a right turn to Klein-feistritz at the chapel. In Kleinfeistritz make another right turn to Salzstiegl (there is a sign). Follow the road (about 7 km) then there will be a crushed stone road till Salzstiegl. Then you need to drive down the hill (about 2 km) until you arrive at your final destination: Moasterhaus.
