Sledging in West Styria
Scenic sledging fun for all at Salzstiegl!
We have a secure 2 km sledge run named best in the area and ideal for family and friends as well as larger groups and companies.
What do people like most about our sledge run?
- With over 90 snow cannons in use, snow coverage is guaranteed
- The run is quite long with many exciting twists and turns
- Speedometers are located on the track to put a number to all the fun being had
- Chaffeurs are extremely friendly and often have the latest music playing on the radio during the ride up
- Parties are often held in the sledge hut
Tickets can be purchased and sledges borrowed at the sledge hut (Rodelhutte) located directly to the left of our spacious parking lot and multiple VW taxis will chaffeur you up the mountain. Our Moasterhaus also boasts a lovely restaurant to enjoy a meal in after the tiresome sledge run.
TIP: Warm clothes and winter shoes are highly recommended for the sledge run

Sledging and Lunch
From Monday to Thursday (not during Holidays) you can show your sledging receipt to our service personnel you can get:
Pork roast with dumplings and Sauerkraut (side dish made out of cabbage) or
Spaghetti Bolognese with salad or
Traditional "Spätzle" noodles with grated cheese and salad
for € 5 per portion instead of € 10,60
Overnight stay in the Moasterhaus hotel
After having a sledge run, you can stay in one of our 40 rooms. The Moasterhaus hotel is one minute away from the sledging station. If you stay at the hotel, you can get the chips for the sledges and the runs at the reception.
Notice!
If you bring your own sledge, you don't need to pay the deposit. In order to do the sledge run, you will still need to pay the shuttle service, that brings you to the start of the run. It is not allowed to transport their own or our borrowed sledges to the start of the run with private cars or buses. You can buy tickets for the shuttle service in the sledging station or in the Salzstieglhaus (by the beginning of the run). Please follow the directions given by our personnel.
